The Caran d’Ache Sunset Review

Caran d’Ache

Colours of the Earth: Sunset

This review is written with a Pelikan M400 White Tortoise Fine nib pen on a Moleskine Weekly Notebook.

This is a very rare ink colour to obtain with most companies stopping the production of this reddish colour (particularly true in Singapore). As I am an educator, I just had to get this shade of ink although I would have very much prefer to get the “Caribbean Sea” ink instead for its unique colour.

Anyway, this ink is all that I have come to expect from Caran d’Ache, it’s very well-behaved, with little to no feathering and bleedthrough even on this Moleskine notebook. The shae is more pinkish, which kinda resembles the colour of the Mont Blanc “Love Letter” ink minus the rose scent. I’ll be conducting a comparison soon to see if there are any significant differences between the 2 inks.

If you’re looking for a fun ink to write your love letters, this is one ink that I would recommend if you can’t stand the scented ink of the Mont Blanc equivalent.

That being said, I can’t wait for my next ink budget to be approved so that I can lay my grubby fingers on the Caran d’Ache “Caribbean Sea” ink!

<<P.S. this ink is readily available at the Caran d’Ache boutique in Singapore. I’ve received excellent service for my visits there.>>
